Announcement

The important days have been updated for finishing of works and in order to meet the demands in this direction.

Scope

KORSEM13, International Corrosion symposium in Elazığ, Turkey – EFC event No. 375 will be the 13th in a series of similar symposia jointly organized every two years by a Turkish university and the Corrosion Association in Turkey (member of EFC). The symposium, jointly organized by Corrosion Association and Fırat University Faculty of Technology, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, will be held on 15-17 October 2014 at Fırat University Convention Centre.
The intention for corrosion symposia is to create a platform where recent theoretical, experimental and commercial developments in the field of corrosion and corrosion protection are shared and discussed effectively.
At 13th. International Corrosion Symposium, unlike previous meetings, it was decided to organize a session on the corrosion of biomaterials to lay emphasis on the importance of corrosion in human health, and to emphasize that it is a problem encountered in all areas of life because biocompatibilities of metallic materials used in the human body is directly related to the corrosion resistance of material. Also for the first time in this symposium, it is intended to draw attention to the dangers caused by corrosion about Occupational Health and Safety which constitute an agenda in our country and the industrialized countries.
With the 13th International Symposium on Corrosion, it is intended to and draw attention to the problems caused by corrosion on engineering applications and to promote a better understanding of the new techniques to reduce corrosion and engineering solutions. The Organizing Committee is making every effort to attract world-renowned academicians, R&D scientists, engineers and technicians, as well as researchers and practitioners active in different fields of corrosion to the symposium. In addition to the oral and poster presentations sessions exhibitions are planned to bring together suppliers and users of equipment for the identification, measurement, monitoring and prevention of corrosion. Exhibitors are encouraged to prepare papers and/or posters to introduce their commercial products.
